This FM 2014 player profile of Rafael Guarderas shows an insanely cheap defensive midfielder with brilliant physicality and the ability to play at the top. In my test save Rafael gained great fitness, speed and balance, meaning he can run after the ball all day long. These attributes further enhance his good tackling and marking to birth a brilliant midfielder with the ability to break up play. Not only that, he also has a wicked long shot and brilliant passing ability with reasonable all round technique, once Guaderas has won possession he should rarely give it away. The key concern for me though is that bravery, this could stop him going into those 50/50 challenges that a Roy Keane moulded player would thrive for. Also I believe this kid will fail any application for a work permit if you manage in England, you’d need him to move somewhere else first.
Still, for just £250K as a good side outside of England he’s an absolute no brainer.

this guy was even better 14.0 and 14.1, bought him in every single save i had and he surely played well.managed to buy him at as low as 300K$ in the 1st season and up to 8M$ as he became a star.
he gets work permit after about 1.5 seasons because he almost instantly becomes a regular national team player..definitely a bargain and a future star in every save

Certainly is a bargain, can’t say for sure but I’m quietly confident you had to load the country he played in in earlier patches to see him.

Darren I had him on an earlier patch, large DB but no Peru or any other South American countries. I signed him on a free from Galatasaray but sold him on to Estudiantes for just over 2m because he couldn’t get into my team. I knew he had potential but I didn’t know he could get to the level you’ve shown, even if he does have -9.

Sturdy midfielder, will go about his job quietly, plays very well as a DLP. He took a lot of time to develop in my save and is still developing. Unfortunately his playing time is curtailed due to quality of midfielders ahead of him in my save.

Thats very natural, some young players have certain mental attributes randomly distributed, good to have the bravery for his role.
