Many of you will visit the Scouting Network and already know these names, but we have compiled our favourite cheap buys into an XI man squad, this should help hack down the list of targets and show you our top Football Manager 2014 cheap players. The starting XI has an overall asking price of around £23 million at the games start, so the very best clubs could splash out and have a potential world class side for the future.

Idea for a story/challenge: Start with a «rich» team, sell most of the players with the exception of positional needs and sign all of the players listed in this post. How long until you win the league, CL? Thoughts?

That would make for an interesting challenge, you’d need a lot of patience and just remember that a couple of the starting XI would struggle for a work permit in England, I think Tariq and Savitskiy are the ones. So maybe manage a team elsewhere in Europe where work permits aren’t an issue.
As for time, I should think you could challenge domestically within four years and any year after that the CL may be attainable with some luck. Let me know how it goes :)

Rodrigo Gomez is also not getting work permit in England at the start of New Game! 23 years old Andre Hahn is a bargain buy for 3.3 Mil at the start! Has anyone profiled him?

We haven’t profiled him because he’s not developed enough in any of our saves so far.

He’s one of those players for whom stats doesn’t do justice. :). You had to buy him at the start of the season and he will develop into a wonderful assist machine. Unfortunately I didn’t have the save where he helped my arsenal do a treble.

Castillo is the same, just not developed enough in our saves. While you can see they can do well we can’t profile players like that unless we have the evidence to show they are capable to readers who don’t know them.

Nicolas Castillo from Chile another wonderkid and must be included. Has a very good overall stats. Long shots, Heading, Pace and a very rare fit for Complete Forward position.

Grimaldo is more like 20+ million for me. Also Pugliese asking price is like 15-20 mio, same with Rugani which goes for 12 mio per club!

You are not bidding at the very beginning of the save then, Grimaldo and Pugliese for instance are available to sign with compensation which is what their fees are based on, I can’t control or tell you if and when their clubs will negotiate a new contract rendering that deal none applicable. Obviously I can’t predict the future of your save and how their fees my change as you go through the months…but I can tell you these asking prices are based on the start of a new save with the latest patch and are heavily researched.

He’s not visible in any of my saves so you may need to load Scotland as playable, so we haven’t profiled him.

I am having a big dilemma guys! What should I do? I am managing a decent Newcastle team with some good youngsters and on course for the European qualification! I am offered a job with A.C.Milan with hefty transfer and payroll but with limited talent. Which may be able to qualify for Euro championships, which cannot be guaranteed at the moment…

He was introduced in patch 14.3 so if your game was started using an earlier patch he won’t be there, also if you haven’t loaded a large database he won’t be there either.

I don’t think there’s any need, there are only 16 names on there.
