Ana – FM 2011: Cheonan, Season Three

Hi everyone, I hope everyone has finished their xmas shopping! If not you should hurry up as Christmas day is almost here! So I will now post my third season at Cheonan and sadly I am no nearer winning any of the champions leagues, but hopefully I can build up my reputation and get a better job ASAP!

Transfers in 2012

So again those names probably mean nothing to you! But I did actually buy some players for money! Again I will just post the three best and one of them is probably the best player in this division! :)

Ahn Seon-Hwan

This was a signing to partner the best player in the league (will post him last!) and he brings good pace and good finishing, he is a striker and I will use him as the poacher in my team which is now just a standard 4-4-2.

Stopilla Sunzu

So his agent contacted me about this player, and that is probably one of my favourite new features in this game. He is a Zambian international so is obviously a foreign player in my South Korean side and he is a defensive midfield player and is pretty good I think.

Choo Won-Ki

Ok so on the face of it he may not look world class! But in the first divison of the N league he is one of the best players!

If you cover up his physical attributes he is a very good centre forward, with good off the ball, composure and finishing. I belive that having him alongside Ahn Seon-Hwan (My other signing) they can score the goals to give us a good league finish.

Results At The Halfway Mark

So we have began the season in excellent fashion, winning our opening 8 games before getting beaten at Hallelujah! We did struggle to regain our winning ways with back to back draws but started winning again to win five of our last seven games!

Biggest Win

My Best Ever Comeback!

I had to post this! It was probably my greatest moment in the new FM! After being two zero up and a man up my side decided to throw it all away as Yesan fought back with 10 men to take a lead on 83 minutes. However my side show real determination as Hwang Jae-Ki scored on 89 minutes only for my centre back to header home a corner in the 94 minute! :)

The League Table

So the top four qualify for the playoffs and postions dont matter, however we are 10 points clear of 4th place and going into the second half of the season are very well placed. Goals have flowed all season and we have been very good at the back.

The league top scoreres and as you can see my top two have 22 between them and are worrying all defenders in the league! They have already formed a strong understanding and I expect more goals from both of them

The Final League Games Of The Season

So a strong finish as we were unbeaten taking six wins from eight games. Two draws and a really strong end of season for my team.

So we were top but that means nothing really as their is no trophy or anything! We did finish with a record amount of points! With 66 we also were the biggest scores as Choo Won-Ki took the golden boot with 14 goals this season! His fellow striker ended with 12 but also had three times more assist’s so the perfect strikerforce!

Many star players this season but the top was my attacking midfielder Kim Kwang-Myung who finished the season with 6 goals and 19 assists! Choo Won-Ki as expected was fantastic at getting goals, but also got lots of assists and Jung Eui-Joon was fantastic at the back!

We would meet BTC in the semi final of the playoff! Again we were drawn against the best side we could get! However this time we would have home advantage!

The Semi Final Playoff Vs BTC

Yay! A win in the playoffs! Makes a change and puts us into the final agaisnt Gangneung city which is played over two legs! We took the lead  and never looked back as Kim Kwang-Myung opened the scoring. Defender Bae Moon-Ki scored a penalty after Ahn was fouled, and it was he that added the third with a fine finish. The final here we come!

The Playoff Final Vs Gangneung City

Yes you have read it right we actually won a playoff! The games were both very boring but Ahn Seong-Hwan scored in both legs to seal a very comfortable promotion! We would be int he K league next year, well at least my team would be….

Show just how good we were, and how my team played I will wish them the best of luck next season.

So I let my contract run down, and eventually I let it expire in all honesty I feel I have taken this side as far as I can the chance of surving next season are impossible. We would need massive investment an almost a new squad all which we wouldnt be able to get.

However part of this challenge is to find a new club, I have a continental reputation meaning I can take a good job in Asia. I am a litttle far from getting a top K league job but I guess I will just see what is available!

My final career stats at Cheonan and a really happy with them. 41 wins from 76 games and a 53% winning ratio in a league I have never played in! We scored goals which is how I like to play and defence well who cares! :)

I was unemployed for 5 months! Before a huge opening came which I accepted :

My new side and it seems I am off to Hong Kong! But more of that in my next post so thanks for reading and wish me luck on my new journey! :D

Well done Ana! A great play off win to boast your reputation. I’m sure you can achieve similar success with South China!

      Thanks Sears!

Yeah Cheonan was always just a stepping stone to a bigger club, and South China are probably the biggest club in Hong Kong so I landed on my feet! :)

    Hi Ana

Nice to see that you have had some success with Cheonan and I would agree with you that they woul have really stuggled in the next league so taking the South China job is a wise and hopefully a good decision

good luck in the season ahead

      Thanks Warren,

If I was playing a normal game I would have stayed but it would take forever to build Cheonan into a club that could even compete for the Asian champions league so the move made sense I think.

Hopefully I did make the right move! :)

Well done Ana!! You gained promotion with a poor club and then were brave enough to leave. I am glad it all paid off and South China should give you a great platform to win your first Champions League. Keep up the good work and Im loving your new career.

      Thanks Darren!

Yeah South China I think are able to play in the Asian champions league so at least I have a chance of winning it, just trying to get use to all the new rules!

      Thnaks Johnny!

Yeah! Am not making it easy on myself! I just found out that I am in the Hong Kong league not the main China league…..

I think this may be a harder task than I first thought!

    Hi,
Has anyone realized that the N-League is not related to the K-League(no promotion)? I figured that out after I won the league during my first season at Cheonan. Apparently the N-League is for semi-professional clubs while the K-League is for professional clubs. This striker seems quite good and I use him quite often. He was a free agent and is a 28-year old striker(as of 2010). His name is Noh Ji-Young(I think) and has good dribbling, finishing, heading and pace with a great composure and penalty taking skills. All these attributes I mention are above 12 each. He scored 8 goals in 13 matches, which isn’t that bad.

Good luck at South China, which is probably the best club in Hong Kong. Almost impossible to get anywhere in a HK team unless you sign foreign talents. I think South China is as good as Cheonan actually…

      Hi,

Yeah you cant get promoted in your first season to the K league from the N league but after that you can.

He sounds like a good striker! I must admit the strikeforce I had was very prolific, so was pretty pelased with how they played.

Yeah, but at least I will have a chance to win some trophies at South China, rather than the struggle for survival I would have had at Cheonan!
