I guess it’s still far from being perfect but I really hope that I can improve it with your feedback. The formation is a balanced 4-4-2 system that looks quite traditional: Let me give you a bit more details about each role. [Read more]

Blyth Spartans Premier League - October 2013

My Blyth Spartans surprised everybody with the great debut in the Premier League. Most people expected us to struggle to survive but we only lost one of the first 6 games and we were in 4th place at the end of September! We had two “easier” matches ahead of us, with the other two newly-promoted teams, Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion. After the unexpected success in the Championship playoff my Blyth Spartans got promoted to the Premier League, a fantastic achievement for this small club. We played very well lately but it wasn’t enough, we had to fight for promotion in the playoff. The first step was the semifinal against Southampton, the team that finished 6th. I was happy to play the first leg away from home, I think that’s always an advantage. I was hoping for at least a [Read more]

Blyth Spartans 2012-2013 - The Last Six Matches

Here we go, our long difficult season in Coca-Cola Championship is down to the last six games, six matches that can make or break our season. We were in 3rd place at the end of March, only two points behind the second placed team, Stoke. We had a chance to fight for that second place but it was going to be very tough because Portsmouth were in with a good chance too. Let’s see how [Read more]
