The Team

Johnny Karp – Owner and founder of the website, a Romanian Football Manager addict. He’s been playing the game since CM ’97-’98, never missed any of the versions since then. His footballing career stopped before it began, he liked playing the game but disliked having to run around like crazy during the pretty harsh training sessions. He’s a supporter of the Romanian national team, Universitatea Craiova, Arsenal and… the Blyth Spartans! You can contact him at johnny[at]footballmanagerstory[dot]com

Darren Smith - Darren is currently running the Football Manager Stories Scouting Network but he is also posting guides and tactics on the main site. He merged with Johnny Karp in 2011 after moving from his own successful site named Allthatisfootballmanager. A football fanatic, whether it be the real thing or video games. He has been playing Fifa and Football Manager for donkey’s years. Deriving from the North East Darren supported Scarborough. However turned into a dedicated Newcastle fan from the age of 7. He enjoys watching Soccer Saturday and any live games. However Football Manager is his real passion. You can contact Darren at darrensmith360[at]googlemail.com

Excessive - He is in charge of the Football Manager Stories Forum. An avid Manchester City fan, he has been supporting the blues since he can remember. Half Swedish, half English, he has shifted houses more times than a spade shovels soil but never looses his passion for football. Been playing FM since 2007, has decided to change from his regular team of Droylsden and manage a team closer to his heart, Varbergs BOIS. Open and honest, someone that you can come to with anything. You can contact him on jake_lenahan[at]hotmail[dot]com

Kevin Mayo – A British ex patriot living in Toronto, Canada. Originally from Wiltshire he is a Football Manager fanatic and has a passion for the England football team as well as following Manchester United. Favourite players include Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore, Alan Shearer and David Beckham. Other interests…none, just football. Favourite sporting moment, Beckam’s free kick against Greece. You can contact him at kevin[at]footballmanagerstory[dot]com

Ana Garcia – “I am 23 and I live in England! I have played FM since sixth form when an ex-boyfriend got me into it and have been playing ever since. I also played girls football at school until under 16 level. I am a female but it doesn’t really change much as I love this game and writing stories and I love football too. Just to let you know I am a Barcelona fan!”

Sayam Khan – Living in England, he has been playing Football Manager since the 06 version. Supporting Arsenal since the age of 8, his first Arsenal match he watched live was at Old Trafford when Adebayor scored a late winner (September 2006). He also likes to keep an eye on Malaga FC (Spain) and Dortmund (Germany). Malaga was the first city he visited in Spain. His favourite footballers are Robin Van Persie (Arsenal) and Mario Gotze (Dortmund). You can contact him at sayam786[at]talktalk[dot]net.

Stromson - Hailing from the East Coast of the United States, Jon is a relative newcomer to the world of football (or soccer, as he knows it). First gaining interest during the USA’s improbable 2002 World Cup Quarterfinal run, he’s since become an avid fan. FM11 is his first ever football manager game, but he’s quickly become a devoted fanatic. He closely follows the US National team, DC United in the MLS, Arsenal in the Premier League, and Portsmouth in the Championship. He can be reached at fmstromson(at)gmail(dot)com.

Martin Pickard – I’m Martin and live in a town called Steeton near Bradford in UK., I’m 24 years old, work full-time for an Escalator Company (Drawing Office). Absolutely love football and I support Manchester United. Relatively new to FM…only started playing FM10 and now wondering why I didn’t start earlier lol. I’m currently managing Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League.

  8. Hey, Just came across your site when I was looking at FM blogs as me and my friend are looking at making one. I’ve never been on your site before and I haven’t actually published a blog on FM either (except for a few posts about a network game during FM08 on sortitoutsi.com . I do have previous blogging experience on Tumblr, but I know that’s a completely different thing. I’d love to join your site though. What is the best way for me to go about it. Cheers.

  11. Hi there,

Have to say, after playing FM since it was CM3, this is the first time I’ve actually got around to reading other people’s stories! And I very much enjoyed it!
In recent seasons I’ve taken to discussing games with friends who now live abroad via email, which has effectively led to writing a tale of epic proportions (no dragons in sight yet but I’m working on it… )and also gotten me to thinking perhaps I should share this with the world at large; not because I’m deluded enough to think my games are that interesting but more because I feel people other than my flatmate should get to share in my shouting at the monitor when their keeper get’s a 9.0 rating or we concede in injury time!
Soo… my question is this, how does one go about setting up a story?! Is there a section on here in which I can post something or is there another forum/site for novice tale-tellers such as myself to ply our trade?
    Your thoughts/opinions/advice/generic put-downs would be appreciated…
    :o )
