The Football Manager Story Team

Johnny Karp – The owner and founder of the website, a Romanian Football Manager addict. He’s been playing the game since CM ’97-’98, never missed any of the versions since then. His footballing career stopped before it began, he liked playing the game but disliked having to run around like crazy during the pretty harsh training sessions. He’s a supporter of the Romanian national team, Universitatea Craiova, Arsenal and… the Blyth Spartans! You can contact him at johnny[at]footballmanagerstory[dot]com

Kevin Mayo – A British ex patriot living in Toronto, Canada. Originally from Wiltshire he is a Football Manager fanatic and has a passion for the England football team as well as following Manchester United. Favourite players include Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore, Alan Shearer and David Beckham. Other interests…none, just football. Favourite sporting moment, Beckam’s free kick against Greece. You can contact him at kevin[at]footballmanagerstory[dot]com

Laxeyman – Massive Liverpool fan, has been playing FM since 2005, lives on the Isle of Man, despite this is a big England fan. Also has a liking for Droyelsden AFC, Havant and
Waterlooville, and Oldham.

Majk – Born and raised just outside Helsingborg, Sweden. Used to play football on a semi-professional level in division 5, Sweden. Has been a constant fan of the The Football Manager series and also played Championship Manager since 98 until FM took it’s place. A die-hard AC Milan fan with favourite players such as Paolo Maldini and Andriy Shevchenko. Proudest moment – Having seen a real life Milan-derby which Milan won 1-0 after a Ronaldinho header. Oh, and being allowed to post on footballmanagerstory.com of course!

Calum – A huge Manchester United fan. Lives in Scotland so can’t go to so many games, but manages to get to some. His favorite one being the 7-1 thrashing against Roma :D Also supports Falkirk and Norwich. Has played Football Manager for the last few years and has very quickly become an addict! His other interests include golf and all sports.

Ana Garcia – “I am 23 and I live in England! I have played FM since sixth form when an ex-boyfriend got me into it and have been playing ever since. I also played girls football at school until under 16 level. I am a female but it doesn’t really change much as I love this game and writing stories and I love football too. Just to let you know I am a Barcelona fan!”

Steve Baker – I’m a 27 year old American currently attending graduate school for a PhD in psychology.  Though American, I have been an avid soccer fan for far longer than the World Cup runs of 2002 and 2010.  (and yes, I will always refer to it as soccer, something not as historically incorrect as my dear friends across the pond make it out to be)  It’s the sport I grew up playing.  I played as a defensive midfielder until I found my true calling just before high school as a goalkeeper.  I still play pick-up games, but nothing terribly organized anymore.  Although new to Football Manager, I am no stranger to this type of game, having played and re-played Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 until I decided it was time for an upgrade to a much more in-depth and realistic (not to mention current) game..

Andries – My name is Andries and I’m from Holland. I started playing as a teenager with Ultimate Soccer Manager, after getting the demo on a floppy disk with a PC-Game magazine. After that experience, I was hooked! I turned 30 this year and celebrated my birthday with buying a laptop and a copy of Football Manager 2010. I once read a slogan that summarizes up my gaming-life: I’m not a man, I’m a Football Manager! I actually bought an extra TV-set to play Football Manager 2007 on my Xbox360 so I could play Football Manager while I was watching TV. In that setting I bounced on a bug in the game. Did you know that when you reach 2054, after the season turnover you stump on a little surprise? Suddenly the clubs bank account doesn’t contains a 3 and an half billion plus, it’s suddenly changed in 4 and a half billion dept! Can you imagine the look on my face? Such a deathblow of a 360 hours plus game overcame me more than once.
