Yaya Sanogo — FM 2011 player profile of a beastly striker

Hey guys and welcome to an overdue player profile. After taking a small break from these (mainly due to writing the handbook) I am back. And I thought how better to restart my FM 2011 player profiles than with my all time favourite striker. He’s strong, quick, can finish and is probably one of the best wonderkids FM 2011 offers. I present to you Yaya Sanogo, today’s profile will go into some detail and feature a rather special video, you really shouldn’t miss that.

Yaya Sanogo

Age: 17 years old

Position: striker

Club: Auxerre

Nationality: French

Value: £2.1 million

Price tag: £5 million (on latest patch 11.3)

Yaya Sanogo starting attributes

If you are still in season one on patch 11.3, this is the profile Sanogo will greet you with. He looks good, but not fall off your chair incredible. For me the key attributes are pace, acceleration, finishing, composure and dribbling. That is what I look for in a striker and Sanogo ticks almost all the boxes. One key attribute to this wonderkids development is his strength, as Sanogo becomes an absolute beast! Below is how Arsenal’s Cagigao rates the French forward.

To be honest I disagree with the above report. Sanogo has the potential to be better than RVP and certainly should warrant a 4 star potential rating. What gives me the right to disagree with such an amazing scout? Take a look at the screenshot below, but take a deep breath first as your about to see Sanogo’s future.

Yaya Sanogo in 2017 with Newcastle

Amazing isn’t he? His finishing is 20 and this shows in game as Sanogo has managed more than a goal every game for me during the last two seasons. The above screenshot is taken from my Newcastle save and for those who wonder how his dribbling has improved so much…well I trained him in this area from day one. I recommend doing this because dribbling is the only attribute that could stop Sanogo been the best poacher on FM 2011. I bought the striker late during 2012 and had to fork out £13 million, but he’s now worth £29 million at the age of 24. AC Milan have been tabling offers alongside Barcelona in excess of £59 million but I’m holding out for more!!

Yaya Sanogo in real life (taken from Wikipedia)

Sanogo plays his football for Auxerre in France, while he’s not started many games Yaya is touted as a real prospect. Sanogo has featured for the French U16’s, U17’s and U19’s on numerous occasions scoring a goal every game for the U16’s. Despite his tall and lanky frame, Sanogo is respected for been both a deadly finisher and possessing great technical ability.

OK you must want Sanogo now? If not I have prepared a short video that would change anybodies mind. Click the link below to see Yaya Sanogo’s best goals while playing for me at Newcastle. I have prepared the goals in order of quality from 5th place to 1st and it includes a little song I think sums the wonderkid up.

Yaya Sanogo’s top 5 goals — MUST SEE! (click here to watch)

My best buy rating — 11/10

That’s right, Sanogo is so good he defies the law of mathematics!! As you can tell I’m extremely enthusiastic towards the striker, but anyone who follows my Newcastle story will see why. I hope this profile has helped, obviously most of you know about Sanogo already but I wasn’t sure if you knew just how incredible he can be with the right guidance (yes that does mean correct training and first team football.) Anyway, thanks for reading and I look forward to your comments as always.

Thanks Excessive, I actually had your screenshot to use but then Sanogo got so amazing on my game. He really does develop fast if trained correctly and given first team football.

what do you play him as target man, advance forward or poacher?

how they hell do i get my sanogo to look like this lol

i cant download the training program so what should i get him to work on apart from the dribbling

          3 июля, 2011 at 10:58

I play him as a poacher within my 4-5-1. You should just train him like any other striker, his potential will do the work. But remember no game time equals no improvement.

is it possible to see a screen shot to what your training schedule looks like for your strikers?
so you not feel his stats are best suited for a target man? any reason you decided to go for poacher instead?

Sorry its taken a while to reply Jay09, with been on holiday I’ve struggled for decent internet connection and every reply I tried failed on this particular comment…anyway! Click this link to see my training schedule https://www.footballmanagerstory.com/wp-content/uploads/images/2011/07/training-schedule-for-strikers.png Theres nothing special to be done, its more about how and where you play him. I personally fell upon Sanogo’s ability as a poacher. I always use this role and even though worried about his dribbling I thought he should adapt to my system rather than me adapt to him…thankfully the result was what you see, he’s the best around in poacher role and scores far less in any other roles. However, that is only if he develops like on my game.

thanks for the advise, i’ll called yaya back on loan from leeds as his stats are not flying up as much as i’d like him too. the problem i have is the iker muniain plays on the right side up front for me as a poacher as well. he has started off the season well. play 13 scored 14 assisted 14 n 8 man of the matches. he can never get benched lol if yaya comes off the bench for the last 20 minutes n start all cup matches fa n carling do you think his stats will still fly up?

I would recommend playing Yaya for a minimum of 15 games and then he stats should fly up. I had him as a first team regular (meaning minimum of 25 games a season) by the age of 19 I think, and from the age of 18 when he played 15 games a season his attributes shot up. Not only that but with every game he seemed to grow in confidence.

    Hi Darren,

I know him really well. You know what, he is 24 and belongs to Arsenal in my game. His scoring rate is awesome and his physical attributes is too good to be true. All are almost 16 and above. He is a wonderful investment.

Yeh, I too noticed him sign for the top teams on other games. He has been with Barcelona on Martins game too.

Great post Darren, Sanogo is the best striker in FM after a few years. Nice video too, the song was perfect ;-)

    • Darren Smith

      16 июня, 2011 at 18:44

Thanks Sears, glad you liked the video and I spent a little time considering the song ‘don’t stop me now’ is a perfect phrase for the striker.

    Hey Darren
I knew when I saw the words Yaya Sanogo that it was written by you! He becomes so good in the game and is definitely a buy.

    • Darren Smith

      16 июня, 2011 at 18:43

lol, I do have a soft spot for Sanogo. He’s just the most well rounded player and scores for fun.

    16 июня, 2011 at 15:06

    Hello Darren
Sanogo’s a great striker, though I think he starts with a broken leg on newer patches so can’t sign him straight away

    • Darren Smith

      16 июня, 2011 at 18:42

Good point CsAtlantis, that could hinder the signing and even increase his valuation later in the game. Still worth the cash no matter what though…I paid £13 mill and feel like he has already paid me back.

He sure is a brilliant striker Darren, an absolute beast! He is certainly the best young striker on FM this year, and it will be interesting to see if he develops the same in real life.

    • Darren Smith

      16 июня, 2011 at 18:41

He is a top class striker on FM, as always its interesting to see if FM’s predictions play out in RL.

    Great post Darren.
He is basically a god of development!

Just a request, i would love to see Dedryck Boyata’s profile, to see if he is a good investment at the start of the season :)

    Cheers Kieran.

      16 июня, 2011 at 17:11

If he gets tutored by Kolo Toure, he turns out into a great centre back :)

      • Kieran

        16 июня, 2011 at 17:18

ah cheers! Just Toure, or can i sign him for a different club and get the same effect?

        • Darren Smith

          16 июня, 2011 at 18:39

I’ve seen Boyata sign for some good teams and perform well so that must be a sign of talent. His attributes haven’t gone through the roof for me but he seems to play well.

The video is great but who’s that lad singing «Don’t stop me now»? It’s not Freddie, that’s for sure! :)

    • Darren Smith

      17 июня, 2011 at 11:46

lol, must admit as I selected the song I thought ‘will anyone pull me up on it not been Frddie?’ Well done Johnny, your the first to notice. Its McFly who are quite a big boy band in England.

      • Excessive

        17 июня, 2011 at 11:54

Knew it! I thought, this sounded like the McFly version and even went on YouTube to compare haha! :P

    finally another player profile
He is very well known and become beast and became perfect duo with Babacar
    maybe next PP:Babacar?
    cheers!

    • Darren Smith

      17 июня, 2011 at 19:26

Hey Timmy, I actually think Sanogo improves beyond Babacars level in terms of deadly finishing and creating magic. He’s my fav on FM11 by far.

    11 июля, 2011 at 14:29

Thanks…did not found him yet. I’m in 4th season for LFC and looking for good striker because Suarez is rubish — he geting to the right positions just can’t finish…I have enough…want to buy Babacar but he’s sooo expensive…will look for this guy hope he didn’t move to any other big club.

    • Darren Smith

      11 июля, 2011 at 18:17

He should be there somewhere mate, I’ve never heard of Sanogo not been on a game even when certain leagues aren’t loaded. Like Tom suggested maybe search through Auxerre’s transfers out and see if his name pops up there.

      • Mikulas Nemeth

        11 июля, 2011 at 18:31

Yop..I found him..still in Auxerre…20yo…will cost me probably 14mil. But I don’t have money now…got 50 mil at start of the season, spent 30 on Pastore (he’s worth it :)) and kept 20 mil for winter but board reduced my wage and transfer budget …so I’m left with 6 mil. Dunno waht happend. Finances went pretty well so far. Will sell Agger probably..he’s 30, I have Wilson, Jones, Kelly, Skrtel and some regens in the academy. He has wages around 70k. That’s too much as he’s not playing every match because Jones and Wilson are playing really well. But his experience might be needed in the final stages of the season…dilemma :) I love this game.

        • Darren Smith

          11 июля, 2011 at 19:00

Well done mate, I seriously recommend signing Sanogo because he’s an absolute beast. Train and play him right and that £14 million (same as I payed) could turn into gold…I have rejected bids of around £58 million so far and he’s only 26. May sell him at that price but want to wait a little longer.

Sounds like you have an incredible team btw, brilliant defence and offloading Agger is sensible…believe me these risks are hard to do but worth while. :)

Thanks. Check it out. The image is quite small but can do the job. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/liverpoolliverpooltacti.png/

I have to say I like it a lot but still didn’t managed to win PL. I’m in 4th season, won FA cup 2 times, League cup as well, Euro Cup, top 4 finish all the time, last season second…I always struggled during christmas period or at the end of the season. Missed byt 2-3 points. This season looks good. Christmas went pretty well so let’s see. :)

Sold Agger for 14,5 to Barca but still did not managed to collect enough for Sanogo. But I guess he’ll be cheaper at the end of season as he has 12months to go on contract.

BTW: The game pissed me of after 2nd season..I finished 4th and won FA and the game put me into EURO cup…which I won but still was short of the money from Champions league…it’s like what 25-30mil less? I was really pissed but kept playing as I like my team too much :)

    Good luck in finding him

I loaned him out and when he came back his potential was only rated 2 and a half stars! Hes currently 20, any chance that’d id be able to salvage something?

    • Darren Smith

      31 июля, 2011 at 09:14

Maybe you can as the scouts and coaches can be wildly inaccurate at times. Can you tell me his valuation, goals scored while on loan and where, finishing, pace, dribbling, composure and acceleration attributes please? From these I’ll confirm if he can still make it, really you must play Sanogo as a first team player from now on, but let me see those details and I’ll tell you if its worth while.
