Hello friends, time for another video update about the new features in FM 2013! Today Miles Jacobson tells you all about the massively improved network game mode, the mode in which you can play online against your friends. I have to say that this is a major improvement and this will allow many more of us to embark on multi-player games and competitions.
Before watching the video, here’s a quick recap of the new features in Football Manager 2013 Network Game Mode:
much easier to set up, network games will run through the powerful Steam servers.
you have the possibility to export your team from single player mode into a network game. This way you can play against one of your friends regardless of which season your team is playing in the single player mode. For instance, I could play with Viitorul Constanta against Darren’s Scarborough or Kevin’s Toronto FC!
agree on match view settings before the actual game, which avoids having the two players having different settings.

Excellent addition to the already impressive new features Johnny. This will be huge IMO, I can see a lot of stories coming around with network saves this year. Funny you should mention me you and Kevin…maybe we could have an FMS grudge league at some point :) The readers would love that.
This opens up a whole new dimension on FMS! I’d love to see 5 seasons in a Johnny vs Darren or Ana vs Kevin with you guys playing your teams from your saves. Please tell me this is a possibility!
I guess as long as there are no playoffs then it would be really fun! I guess it would be difficult though getting everyone together with all our work/life commitments and timezones but its a really nice idea to bring the community together.
Am sure if an opportunity came up we could all participate though wasn’t going to buy the new game at first but now, well am tempted at least! ;)
Now that is definitely a fun addition. A full network game was never really a viable option, but I can definitely see some opportunities for a lot of fun this way. With the teams that Darren puts together, playing him would be a daunting, but I’m sure interesting prospect.
This could be the defining feature of this year’s game, should make it much easier to play with each other (I’ve tried playing with others on Hamachi, it was quite difficult to get it to work properly)
