Hi, I am a few seasons into my game (I cant remember exactly what season I am in but I will post later with screenshots showing my situation). My game is Celtic & Rangers in England...I started them off in the Championship (I took control of Celtic) and moved the two lowest repuation team in each divison down a divison to accomdated from them, then shipped the two lowest conference teams to Divison 3 in Scotland and proceeded to move the two teams with the highest reputations in each scottish divison up a divison to replace Celtic and Rangers.
As it turns out Both Celtic and Rangers gained promotion in their first seasons, Us winning the Championship and Rangers finishing 3rd and promoted via playoffs. If you are interested I can post more on this later and my progression to where I am now.
Now to my problem, if memory serves me right I am in season 2015/16 (It could be 2014/15) and I have managed to build myself a pretty talented team with the future looking good as I have invested heavily into youth coaching, training, recruitment and factilites, the usual top 4 are regularly offering £3.5-£5 million for my regens as soon as I get them. My problem is I am more often than not beating the bigger teams but I am really struggling against the bottom half teams away from home? Why do you think this is. Is it my tactics...I have an away tactic and it works against the bigger teams. The points I am losing in these games is really hampering my season as in the previous two seasons I have finished 6th and i am on course for this again but I am really wanting to break into the top Four and get so Champions League...if it wasnt for all the silly points I am dropping this would be very achievable, if fact the title would be a realistic goal.
Any help or thoughts would be appricated. If need be I can post screenshot to make things clearer when I get home from work.

If you can post the screen shot of your aware tactic that would be helpful. Do you keep the same tactic for all team away from home, if you are a regular in the top 6 then your approach to an away game against Man Utd will need to be different to that of an away game against lets say Wigan, as you will be expected to beat Wigan and as such can play with a more fluid tactic

I struggled against lesser teams away from home regularly when I was playing in the prem and perhaps it is just the away tactic. If they boss the game it may just be a case of putting more men in midfield. This will definetly stop the losses and save you a few points but it may restrict your attacking cutting edge. It may even be your touchline instructions as well

Hi I have attached screens of my tactics. I have one home tactic and 2 away tactics. Neither of the away tactics help against the lesser teams. But the away counter one generally gets me good results against the bigger teams...also this tactic can be altered slightly in certain circumstance by dropping the AMC to MC. Do you think it is the tactic then?

Not sure mate, do you change the type of style for the lesser games? If you are playing counter against the bigger team then great, but against the lesser sides you could try the 4-2-3-1 and play attacking or control and play with a fluid style. I did this in my first seasons before switching to 4-4-2 diamond and found it worked well.

I think a tactic that would work very well with your squad would be Johnnie's Barcelona tactic, take a look it is great !

I think I have managed to solve this problem by slightly tweaking some tactics against various opponents, as suggest above. So thanks guys.
Also Ryan, I have not tried that tactic, but will look at giving it a go, so cheers...
I have been busy since my original post so had minimal game time but look to get cracking on with it till 2013 comes out...Want CL glory, or at least CL football. Man Utd beat me in super cup which I was pretty gutted about.
I am new to this site, but enjoy reading the stories so thinking about doing one when FM2013 is here, starting unemployed. And hopefully creating my own tactic from scratch...quite guilty of downloading tactics with good reviews and tweaking them to suit my team.
