This is only basic and how I take pictures from the game.

You can download GIMP at: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Step 1. Put the game in window-mode and minimize.

I play in window-mode all the time but some prefer to have full window mode.

You find this in Preferences -> Display & Sound

Choose Windowed and then Confirm to save the settings.

Minimize like you do any other program. Why? With bigger screens the pictures will be blurry when you post them becouse of their size.

The My screen looks like this.

Step 2. Get a Print Screen to GIMP

Press Print Screen select GIMPs main window and click Ctrl + V.

Step 3. Select the rectangular selection tool.

The one that's marked on the picture.

Step 4. Select the area you want to show on this website.

Step 5. Cut out this part with Ctrl + X.

Posted Image

Step 6. Close this picture and so you get the default start up screen.

Posted Image

You do not need to save as this picture as the rest of it (except you cut-out piece) is going to be scrapped. So you end up with the default screen.

Step 7. Paste back in with Ctrl + X

Step 8. Export the Image to your favorite format.

Mine is in swedish so you will problably say Export.

Type in the name of the picture. You can type jpg, gif or png at the end to choose what kuind of picture you want. jpg and png are recomended on this site. I use gif becouse they are usually smaller.

You will get som confirmation depending on format. Like compressionrate for jpg or other things for gif and png. Use the orginal settings if you want.

Step 9. Upload it on your favorite site.

I use imageshack.us but there are others. This is my first tutorial here so feel free to comment for questions or changes that need to be made. :)

Nicely done! I've been using GIMP for a few years now and it's pretty good for basic and moderately complicated stuff.
