Well, the answer could be “yes”! It happened before but not for five pounds, the price was 35 pounds and the club is Ebbsfleet. The club was taken over by the contributing fans in 2008 and the system allowed them to have control of the team right down to voting on transfers and team selection. There were 32,000 people that jumped on the opportunity. Things didn’t go to well though as Ebbsfleet United got relegated from Blue Square Premier find themselves one division lower, and the club budget still needs fund raising to be completed. The experiment didn’t fail totally though, the club still exists and there are others who might have been wise enough to learn from their mistakes.

Only a few more days to go, I can’t wait! The World Cup will finally begin on Friday and so will our predictions contest! You already know that you can win a copy of Football Manager 2011 but above that I’m sure that we’ll have lots of fun together during the tournament. After taking all your great suggestions into account I came up with the following set of rules and requirements for the contest, please read them carefully and let me know if they are OK or not.
I’ve been thinking about this for a long time and now I can finally do it! Ever since I founded the website in December 2008 I wanted it to become strong enough to support its running costs. Now, thanks to you, it has reached that point, the income from the ads that you see on the website is enough to pay for the hosting bills and domain name fees. I am happy to announce that there is a small surplus and that will be given back to you dear friends, I will buy and give you a copy of Football Manager 2011!
Since I can’t randomly pick a reader to receive the prize I thought about organizing a contest and since the World Cup is going to start in around the month it will be the perfect occasion. Let me explain how it will work:
