Basingstoke: BSP 2nd attempt 2011-12

Welcome back! After that in-depth cover on my tactical approach I will now share the progress the team has been doing so far. It is 2011 and it’s my second attempt att qualifying from the Blue Square Premier. Hold tight… DEspite the slump of form at the end of august I was very happy with the team. We got a bit more disciplined at the end of this period which shows in the results. Less conceded [Read more]

Basingstoke: start of 3rd season

Welcome back my friends! We’ve shaken off last season and the team is ready for another shot at promotion. Hopefully without too much distress. I’ve had some constant issues with my tactics. I make adjustments that usually work out great… but then comes some dark periods where I tend to change things a bit to cover up lapses in defence och weaknesses in attack. But doing so usually bring forward new issues. Then the lack of quality [Read more]

Basingstoke: BSP season summary 2010/11

Alright. I’ll do the whole season in one sweep. During this world cup my passion for playing is back and I’ve skipped ahead a bit. Matches from Aug – Oct A good solid start to the season and the highlight is that we have mane games where we haven’t let any goals past us. I’m also happy with the contribution from the strikers. Jake Taylor, the on-loan forward is really producing the goods. Fitzharris was injured [Read more]

Basingstoke: Pre-season + transfer updates

Welcome back my dear readers! The last season ended in a promotion to the Blue Square Premier. (The league just below Coca-cola league 2.) The other major expenditure is wages of course. The biggest reason why we can’t make a better profit is due to the low [Read more]

Basingstoke: February - End of season 2010

Alright, I have some catching up to do. I haven’t played that much lately but thankfully I had already done some skipping ahead in the game before hand. So here’s a somewhat short summary to the final months of the first season with my Basingstoke. The league at the end of January February A very short month with two wins and one draw. I felt contempt with that. Lee also had a good month bagging [Read more]

Basingstoke town: December - January 2009-10

This have been a long break for me. I’ve actually been waiting for Johnny to get back from his trip, so that I could keep up with his story and stay in the same timeline. Though moving ahead a few months can’t do that much harm. December 2009 Started off the month with a loss but except that game it was all good in the league. Got a draw against woking in the first FA [Read more]

Basingstoke: October - November 2009

Welcome back to the Blue Square South! We had been on a great run in the opening two months which saw us lead the league early on. Would we stay fortunate? October Bignall and Vasilev is keeping our hopes up still, but our first losses in the league came this month. I think with diverted focus on the fa cup it’s too much for my players at this stage. It’s difficult motivating them for every [Read more]
