Ajax:Pre-Season 2009

Hello friends and welcome to what I hope is this time is a much longer story than my previous effort with Oxford. Before I go any further a big thanks to all who voted and in the end Ajax came out the clear winners. The company I work for sponsors Ajax so here’s a link to the sponsorship page. http://www.aegon.com/en/EN-Homepage/About/Sponsorships/Ajax-soccer/ So in looking at the Ajax first team squad I was already happy with what was available but [Read more]

Hello my friends. I’m sad to say my Oxford save is no longer as it just didn’t grab my interest the same way my Swindon game did and in some respects I wish I hadn’t given up on them. Therefore, I’m looking to start a new game and Johnny has very kindly put together a poll for me. So here are the choices and the reason why. Ajax …simply because the company I work for (AEGON) [Read more]

Oxford United:September 2009

We started off September with a trip to Gravesend to play Ebssfleet. Due to fatigue I was forced to rotate three of the back four players with the exception of Canadian Ross Smith. I was pleased with these changes as the defence coped very well with the early pressure and some long balls clearance set up a couple of early chances for Paterson. Oxford United: August 2009

Hello everyone and welcome friends to the next installment of my new story. The past week has been so busy at work and home I had almost lost the momentum of continuing on. Anyway, here’s what’s happening with Oxford. Finally the first game of the season and we are at home to York City. We got off to a flying start with Eyjolfsson scoring on the volley after only 9 minutes as York failed to [Read more]

Oxford United: A new beginning

Hello friends and welcome to my new story which features Oxford United of the Blue Square Premier League. As they say if you fall off the horse you should get right back on and so it is with Football Manager. To start with a quick history of  Oxford United… Oxford United was founded in 1897 as Headington United, adopting the current name in 1956. Oxford joined the Football League in 1962 after winning the Southern [Read more]

Swindon Town: August 2012, The End

Hello Everyone I’ve decided not to carry on with Swindon anymore. As you will see below their was not much improvment in August and the defeat against Derby was the final nail in the coffin. There’s really not much to write about when all the action is in your own half which has been the case since the start of 2012 and so it’s very difficult to be motivated and continue on. I’d like to thank [Read more]

Swindon Town: 2012/2013 Pre-Season

Hello everyone and welcome back to my Swindon Town story. We left off last time with Swindon managing to stay up in the Premier League mainly thanks to other results going our way but sometimes you need a bit of luck now and again. We returned from our summer break in which we saw Norway surprisingly become Champions of Europe and in some ways gave us renewed hope for the forthcoming season by showing us [Read more]
