Notts County Story – February 2017
The next game was a pretty special one, not because we were meeting Celtic in the Champions League but because it was my 500th game in charge of Notts County! (or so they say, I didn’t count). The players rewarded me with a spectacular performance, it was looking like a training game at times. Guilherme, Rafael Sobis and Ashley Young were simply unstoppable, I had nothing to do during this game but to sit back, relax and enjoy the show. Celtic scored a superb consolation goal to complete the spectacular game but the qualification was 99% settled.
We were going to Wembley for the last game of the month, the Carling Cup final against Arsenal. We were surely looking to lift the cup for the 3rd time in a row and confidence was extremely high: Romano and Aguero were back in the starting eleven! And The Gunners found themselves under heavy pressure right away, Sergio Aguero had a fantastic first half. He was dribbling past anybody that was coming his way and scored two fantastic goals before the interval. Arsenal had to thank goalkeeper Joe Hart for keeping the score decent at half time. Arsenal tried to react in the second half but we kept them under control with ease. Andrea Romano had to score one too though, he showed the crowd at Wembley his trademark turn and shoot move to make it 3-0.
While we were battling for the League Cup Chelsea played another league game and reduced the gap to only four points. We have two games in hand though. It also seems like Manchester United are out of the title race already, so I guess it will be between us and The Blues.
Next month’s schedule doesn’t look scary at all but it might be a bit busier if we’ll play the Champions League quarter finals and the FA Cup semi final.
That’s about it folks, thanks for reading. I hope to play the games in March tonight and post the update tomorrow, stay tuned.

Hi Johnny
Another excellent month. Great games against Forest and Celtic and your still on course for a repeat of last season. Well done!
well done johnny
yet another unbeaten month and you are looking to manage to achieve on winning every possible trophy this season.
I am also in my last season in my fm story and i am looking for people to give me ideas on who to manage. Preferably somewhere in England as I have never really managed a foreign team and it is something that I am not really interested in as well.
warren
Yeah, it is all set up for you to win everything this season!
4 points clear at the top with a couple of games in hand, your last season will be full of glory!!
@Kevin
Thanks, I think that the Celtic win was a perfect gift for my 500th game with Notts County.
@Ana
Thanks for the confidence, I hope we won’t slip up in the final months.
@Warren
Thanks for the comment. I don’t have any particular idea about who you should manage, I guess I’m all out of imagination right now. I hope the others will have some ideas to share though.
I believe you are on course to sweep all trophy again. There is simply no club that is your match now. Well done.
Thanks Lye. I hope to prove that on the pitch but on paper we do look pretty strong.
Hi Johnny, an excellent month, well done. I think the league title is yours, hopefully you can go on and win the lot.
Thanks Laxeyman, we’ll know more about our strength at the end of March.
