Hello everyone, after a few requests for my tactics, most recently from Joseph, you can now download it.

Click here to download the tactic.

Some information about the tactic:

Here is the formation, it’s just a 4-4-2. I don’t play offside, my defenders are quite slow. In fact, I never play offside anyway, some players become confused and errors occur.

The team philosophy is set to fluid, I like to see my team playing some nice football. The strategy is Standard, it’s quite a traditional formation really. The settings also focus on direct passing, closing down and hassling the opposition, as well as man marking, as I don’t like zonal, it leads to many goals conceded. I also like to play quick football, it ties in well with the direct passing setting. Also, lots of width is used, I try to exploit the full pitch, it’s more difficult for defenders that way.

So there you are then, the tactic has worked for me so far, I hope it works for you. If you didn’t catch the link before, you can download the tactic here.

Enjoy!

  1. just a quick question; does it matter at all what side your strikers play, left or right depending on their strongest fooT? and also the role they play e.g target man, advanced forward, deep lying forward? thanks

  2. @cory, it doesn’t really matter what side they play, sometimes playing them on the opposite side can be benificial as they can have more oppurtunities to score. I play Abbott as an Advanced Forward, attack, and Brandy as a Poacher.

  3. Interesting tactic. I usually see high defensive lines and rather rigid and safe tactics that fit most team pretty good. But this one is really smart for the types of players you possess. If you have slower central defenders then this is surely the way to go to build a solid backline.

I would have no problem trying this out.. that is if I happen to buy really slow defenders.. but that wouldn’t happen with Caen. But maybe in my next game.

You asked how I got Brandy. Check out my old blog. Free tranfer in 2010

  5. @Majk, I don’t like rigid tactics, it makes the team rather boring to watch. I have always used a deep defensive line, the biggest threat to a defence is always pace, if the attackers have got it then it’s hard to cope.
@Kevin, thanks, I’ll check it out.

  6. thanks that helps for my team as i have two right footers up front so now i know it could be beneficial, interesting. why do you play brandy poacher: his stats?? or sumthing different??

  7. When I downloaded this tatcic, it came up with temp, defensive line and width all default. Does this matter?

  8. @cory, just because it gets the best out of him, it seems to work, so that’s why.
@Joseph, it probably does matter, I don’t know why it came up as default, they aren’t set as default on my game.
