Thank you for putting up the facepack post. The file is really big, will try to download.
I would recommend using the torrent file, it took me only around half an hour to download it that way.

I will help you but I don’t understand if you downloaded only the torrent file or the megapack itself through bittorrent.

If you downloaded only the torrent file you should install a BitTorrent client, I would suggest uTorrent – download it from here and install it on your PC. After that you must open the torrent file that you downloaded with uTorrent and the whole megapack should be downloaded to your PC in a while, depending on your internet connection speed.
If you have trouble with torrents you can always download the 14 files from Rapidshare…
Let me know when you have downloaded the megapack and I’ll guide you through from there.

Did you download via bittorrent or from rapidshare? Make sure the download is complete and maybe try another program to extract the archive, I use Izarc and PeaZip.

I don’t think the Premiership pics are all in one part.
finally i downloaded that megapack yesterday and extracted it with no problem at all however before i started i created my manager profile and i added one of my photos. after that in game preferences i unticked ‘skin cache’ and ticket ‘always reload skin and and confirm’ and then i confirmed this. during the game i noticed that my picture disapeared from my profile. could someone advice me how to resolve the problem and bting my picture back in to my profile. all the faces i downloaded are ok!

I’m happy you made it! The same thing happened to me with my picture in FM 2009, I didn’t add one in FM 2010 yet. Here’s how I did it in FM 2009, it should work in FM 10 too:
If you follow all these steps correctly it should work.
1. select “Show Unique ID’s” in the game preferences
2. Go to your manager home page and you should see your unique ID at the top, just below your name.
3. Create a folder called me in Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\
4. Download this file and save it to that folder you just created. Open it in a text editor and change the 2 picture values to your unique id. (in my file the value is 1394644719)
5. Take a picture of yourself and save it in the same folder. Rename the file with your unique id ( 1394644719.png in my case)
6. in the game preferences – Display & Sound untick ‘Use Skin Cache’ and tick ‘Always Reload Skin on Confirm’. Press Confirm and it should now work.

You should download all the pieces, I don’t know where the config file might be but if you want just that file I think that you’ll have a better chance if you download the last part.

anyway, is it going to be a problem if i download,extract and blabs it in my graphics folder WITHOUT deleting my current faces as im afraid the megapacks’faces (some) not going to be as cool as mine (: lol

The link is there, just below the torrent link. If you want to keep your existing faces make sure you also keep your existing config.xml file that goes with those pictures. I would suggest making two separate folders, one with your faces and one for the megapack and see what happens. I don’t know what will happen with duplicate faces, which ones the game will pick to display. It’s kinda complicated.
to make my question simpler,
can you place more than one facepack in that folder?
if so is there a problem if the facepacks had some of the same pics?
will there be a problem with there being more than one pic of certain players?
im afraid there’ll be some kind of ‘crash’ in the game ):
I don’t know if the game will crash, I never tried more than one facepack at the same time. Try it and see what happens
But again, I don’t think there will be a crash, hopefully the game will just pick one of the two pictures if there will be duplicates.

Hi there. I’m having difficulty to put my own picture after put the facepack on. I have downloaded the confiq file from the link n managed until step 4. However i couldn’t proceed as I don’t know which program to open it with. Hope u could help me with this:

You should look for a Blogger template that includes a navbar… I use WordPress, it’s a slightly different thing. I like the colors that you have though and I wish you good luck with the blog.
i extract the folder into football manage 2010/data/ picture or graphics so i made them
then it come up with a error do you want to copy the folder without encryption

Mate, I really don’t understand much of what you’re saying. The instructions are in the post and they are pretty clear, if you follow them everything should be fine.
What program do you unzip them with?
Steven, you can do that with a wide range of programs: WinZip, WinRar, Izarc, Peazip, there are hundreds of those.

I just downloaded the facepack but they are not showing up in game.
1) I installed the FM2010 from fresh
2) Installed the latest 10.2 patch
3) Downloaded the facepack using Torrent
4) Created a folder ‘graphics and pictures’ in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010
5) extracted the megapack to the ‘graphics and pictures’ folder
6) loaded up the game and clicked in preferences turn of cache and always reload image etc
But when I go in-game the faces are not appearing (I am also using the original FM background (ie not the dark one)
Where am I going wrong ?

I just figured out how to do it and the facepack now works (looks great by the way)
copy the folder that contains the facepack (ie where you extracted it to – in my case I created a folder called ‘graphics and pictures’)
and then go inside the folder named DATA and just click paste and it will paste the facepack folder = the facepacks then load up when you begin the game

It’s the folder that the game uses to save files, game cache etc. The easiest way to see which folder it is is by searching for your save game files.
Hello I got through every thing ok all the faces show up but now there are no badges for any of the clubs. none what so ever, can someone please help me ?

I downloaded the files from RS but they appear to be corrupt. I have tried repairing the zip files and extracting without confirmation but with no luck. Keeps coming up with “unexpected end of archive” and “CRC failed in megapack this file is corrupt”. They are not recognized by WinRAR when intially downlaoded, I have added them to the archive but again with no luck.

Make sure you downloaded all the pieces, you should have 27 of them. They worked fine when I last checked.

Check how many files you have in the extracted folder. If you have only 7k you should delete them and try to extract again.

Did you change anything in the game preferences? Maybe you turned off the “show player pictures” option.

Sorry mate, there is no other way. Try using PeaZip to extract the files, it worked for me every single time.

You can’t extract unless you have all the 27 files. When you have all of them it will work.
Does this facepack have most of the new young talents for fm2010 in it. Would like pics for all of my new wonderkids
Just when I looked at the upload date it was march 2009 so it is obviously a fm2009 facepack.

Nope, it’s not a FM2009 pack. I’m using it in FM2010 and it has the pictures of most wonder kids.

No, you don’t have to start a new game. Just follow the instructions on how to install it and it should work.

I never tried to do that, so I don’t know if it’s easy or difficult. In theory you should add the new pictures and name them according to each player’s unique ID and then edit the config.xml file. But that’s just theory, I don’t know if that’s the right way or not.
What program do you use to extract the zip files?

I use a free program called PeaZip.
I’ve tried extracting with PeaZip but it cannot detect the zip files. Tried WinRAR also but no go.

You have to try to extract the first piece of the split archive, or at least that’s how I do it an it always works.
hey guys, having problems with this, done everything done to a t but when i go on the prefrences and tick and untick the boxes and confirm it comes up an xml parsing error “at line 1 of config.xml” ? ive updatemy xml thing but tht didnt help ! any ideas ? cheers.

If you do everything right it should work right away, start the game and the pictures should be there.

Hm, it should work just fine then. You can try to see if it works with another skin, otherwise I can’t think of any other advice if you followed all the instructions correctly.
what folder shout you put it in i made one called graphics and then players does it matter what folder it goes in?
also in the documents it doesnt say the players names it just has numbers would that matter

No, the file names are numbers that correspond to each player’s unique ID number in the game. Do not alter the picture file names, otherwise there won’t be any chance for it to work.

Stumbled upon this page whilst searching google for FM10 facepacks. I wanted to know if it was possible to use these facepacks in the Steam version of the game and if so, what folder would I need to place the files into?

Also, can anyone confirm if these mappacks cover the MLS? I certainly hope so. If not, is there a MLS mappack I can download from somewhere? Preferably though, I would like to have as many pictures as possible from all clubs

I’m using it on Steam, so it surely works. I’m not sure if it covers the MLS but since there are so many pictures I assume that the MLS should be pretty well covered. In fact, this pack was assembled by putting together the various specific league packs available at the time, so it covers most leagues and countries.

I have downloaded the torrent, exdtracted the files to a created folder called pictures inside a created graphics folder in my saved game data of football manager. But I have no idea why the faces are still not loaded.
I have unticked skin cache and clicked always reload skin on confirm but the faces wont appear. When it says load game the pictures folder is on the list by it seems there is nothing inside to load.
I have followed the instruction as you have said but something is still wrong do you have any ideas I would really appreciate the help.

Could you check to see what you have inside the graphics/pictures folder? You should have another folder named “faces” with all the picture files in it.

You can activate that option in the game preferences, “show unique IDs” or something like that. With that activated when you go to a player’s profile in the game you will see the ID number under his name.

I’m sorry to ask for Facepack help but i’ve been trying to get this to work for weeks and it’s just not having it.
I’ve downloaded the files and unzipped it. The pictures have been place in the following folder: Documents\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Footbal Manager 2010\Graphics\Pictures\Faces\Megapack2.4.
I’ve also un-ticked the ‘use skin cache’ and have ticked the ‘always reload skin on confirm’ boxes but still cannot get them to load.
I’m currently using the default skin, but have also tried with the Steklo 09 Redux skin and neither work. I have downloaded the patch 10.3 so was wondering if the Facepack works with this patch?
If it does work with patch 10.3 is there meant to be a config file placed somewhere, either in with the pictures or in another folder.
Any help is much appreciated.
Also I have the logos and kits working just fine, it’s only the facepack that won’t work.

The pack surely works with the 10.3 patch since I’m using it. There should be a config.xml file and that should be located in the Megapack2.4 folder along with all the picture files. This might sound silly but I remember there is an option in the game preferences to show player and staff pictures or not, do you have that activated? It’s in preferences – display and sound – show player and staff pictures and you should have it set to “real and generated pictures” or something like that. Otherwise it seems that you have done everything right and the only other thing that could stop it from working is the skin, you could try a few other skins to see if the problem persists.
I dont know anything about it, but as i can see it it is the link there is wrong:
Documents\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Footbal Manager 2010\Graphics\Pictures\Faces\Megapack2.4
you have to copy/paste the faces one step up so the faces is in the map \faces map!
Try it maybe it work?

To rectify the problem I moved the pictures up a level as advised by babben and re-unzipped the file to locate the config file as advised by Johnny Karp and placed that in the file as well.
Everything is working perfectly.

You put them in the wrong place. If you would have read the instructions you would have seen the following line: “extract the files to “My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2010/graphics/pictures”. So the “faces” folder should go there.
Johnny, I tried it now : the faces are all in : C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics !! and yet nothing has changed! the Logos are working & so are the kits, but I just cant get the faces to stick!
You should have C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures\faces and all the picture files in that last folder called “faces”.
Now im absolutely going mad! now the directory is : C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\faces & all the faces are in it, and yet nothing is happening! & of course I ticked “always reload skin on confirm” & unticked “use skin cache”. does it have anything to do with the “show player and staff pictures” option ?!

From what I understand you downloaded a different facepack, not this one. Normally the steps to follow should be more or less the same but I guess you should check the instructions for that particular facepack from where you downloaded it. If it shows the pictures for Palermo’s players than the other ones should appear too. How do you have the files, all of the pictures in one folder or a folder for each team?
I actually did so, the faces are in : C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures , but they dont work, while the kits & logos are in the data\…! and they work !

I have extracted all the files, and I can see the pictures in the folders… But there is not “names” under each picture… There is some numbers… I am new to this, so don’t blame me… How do Fm 10 know which picture belongs to which person, when the pictures is with numbers? Each player and staff is assigned an unique number, that’s the explanation. You can see those exact same numbers in the game if you select “show unique IDs” or something like that in the game preferences.

That’s a good solution, put all of them in one folder named “faces” and them put that folder in “pictures”. That’s how I have them in my computer.

Hello again! I have this problem
I have all the PNG pictures in 1 folder. I placed the folder to the folder called “graphics” and then I ticked “always reload skin on confirm” and I unticked “use skin cache”. I tried first of all to find a player. In my case I chose Wesley Sneijder. I found his ID and then I tried to find the ID in the folder with all the pictures in. I found him, so there is nothing worng with the pictures… But it seems like I can’t get them on my screen in FM10… I tried to rename the folder “faces” “facepack” “players” but it won’t work… I can’t get them into FM10… I hope you can find a solution to my problem!
That’s weird. Make sure you also have the config.xml inside that folder with all the pictures. As I said, mine are in graphics/pictures/faces.
Oh :S I don’t have the “config.xml” in my folder… I didn’t get one of those config.xml whit the downloads… Can I get it somewhere else?

that facepack is updated to 2010?

I downloaded the Megapack from the torrent link, but it says “Error in packed file” when trying to open the zip file (size: 2,759,404,889). Any idea?
Zoltan, the torrent link is provided by somebody else so I don’t know what happens there. However I did test that torrent download and it worked file, the files extracted with no particular problem. You could try to download it again, maybe the file didn’t download completely.

Hello I dont really know if you can help wit this but I re-installed my game with steam and now all the logos and pictures are gone.

I don’t understand exactly what happened, did you have this pack previously installed or not? Anyway, some logos and pictures should show with or without this pack so I’d suggest you to check your installation and game preferences, something might have gone wrong.
I didnt have anything previously installed I just decided to install it again using steam to update as I am useless at putting files in or anything
Well I can’t tell what happened. Did you uninstall the game properly before re-installing it? Anyway, if you didn’t have this pack before re-installing I can’t see how adding it would solve your problem.

One last thing, you could also check the in-game preferences and see if you selected the options to display player faces and team badges, I remember there were such options but I might be wrong.

Well, I’m not a legal expert but my guess is that as long as you do not sell the pictures you should be alright. Those who hold the legal rights might ask you to remove the pictures if you put them up for free but if you plan on selling them then you might end up in a painful lawsuit. But again, I’m no expert in this matter.
I will absolut not do any sales, I will just use the pictures in a program and a website for footballstats etc.!

I have tried many things, but I can’t make it work.
I have the faces AND the config.xml file at Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2010/graphics/pictures/faces, I have done everything following the instructions, ticked and unticked the correct boxes in “Display and Sound”, made sure that the face load option was enabled, but none of that worked.
By the way, I also tried different folder combinations, like placing the faces and the config files in “graphic/pictures”, “graphic/faces”, “graphic/pictures/faces/Megapack” and “graphic/pictures/Megapack”.
I simply can’t figure out what to do!
Just figured it out.
I went to “Preferences > General > User Data Folder” and realised that the Folder Location was wrong. So, I redefined it to the correct folder in “Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2010…”

Hi, just downloaded the face pack but not to sure where to add. I am running game through steam. I have looked on folder in my laptop and found files for manager but not any for graphics. Where do i put them and how, thanks

thank you soo much they worked perfectly although they were some curropt images but those guys arent in my game; so theyve probably retired or they werent in my medium database but thank you sooo much

do you know where i can get the separate “config.xml” file? i accidentally deleted it and I don’t wanna download the whole 3gig zip file. it takes too long! might you know which split file the .xml file is located?

I’m not at home right now, I would have sent you the .xml file. I have no idea exactly in which split file it’s located either, sorry. Hopefully somebody will send you the .xml file, otherwise you will have to wait until Sunday when I’ll get back at home. You could try the last split file though, (number 27) the smallest one, there is a chance it might be in there.
Johnny, the zip files have o be ALL downloaded I think in order to unzip them? I’m not sure but I’ll try to DL the last one. anyway, “[email protected]” is my email add. if any of you have the time, please send me the config.xml file of the megapack. thanks guys!
I think you can extract just one of them, I never tried but it could work.
well, I DL’d the split file 27 but there are 2 file name extensions, .zip.027? my zipeg doesn’t recognize it. so I guess I’ll just have to wait for the torrent DL to finish again or wait til Sunday… whichever comes first
fixed! i DL’d crossover for mac & fmxml! but the problem is, not all players from chelsea fc have faces… is it just me or is it really incomplete???

My laptop crashed and I had to re-install FM 2010. I’ve downloaded the facepacks and logos packs as split files. Now I’m trying to extract them (the 27 files for the facepack and 19 files for the logos) using peazip but they dont seem to be extacting to the graphics folders. It just send a zip folder to the graphics folder.
What am I doing wrong?
You just have to extract that zip file too, that’s all. Until now you only put the 27 pieces together with PeaZip which resulted in the big zip file.
Thanks Johnny- I’ve tried that for both files and it starts to unzip but then says ’2: Fatal error ocurred’. I’m usually pretty savvy with computers but this is driving me crazy,
I really can’t understand what’s going wrong there, sorry. You could try to use another program to unzip those files, I don’t know.

I still don’t have the main club logo on the club screen, but I suppose I can do without.
Do you think this is an issue with the config file, like with the kits?

I downloaded the 27 bits and It says that the files are in an unknown format so i cant even see the pictures and when i extract them using winrar or winzip the files are still in an unknown format so i cannot even view the pictures!!

I’ve installed fm 2010 through Steam, and I’m having a nightmare of a time getting the megapack to work. First of all, there are two “Sports Interactive” folders in my documents. I am not sure, but I used the one with my save game data in it. Second, there is no “graphics” folder in there — there is a “skins” folder with a “config.xml” file in it. I started by creating a “graphics>faces” folder and putting the images in there. It didn’t work. Then I put them in the “skins” folder, thinking they needed to be with the “config” file. That didn’t work either. Then I tried putting them in the other “Sports Interactive” folder, and that didn’t work either.
I am pretty sure that I’m doing everything right — “reload skins on confirm” and all that.
Any ideas about what’s going wrong?

That’s because you aren’t supposed to make a “graphics>faces” folder. You’re supposed to make a “graphics>pictures” folder.

If you have all the 27 pieces right click on the MEGAPACK 2.0.zip.001 file and then select “extract”. That’s if I managed to understand what you’re saying.

I am prob being really stupid but… I downloaded the Megapack 2.0 through Torrent which dowloaded ok. How do I then extract it? I have set up the Football Manager 2010\graphic\pictures and then copied the “compressed (zipped) folder” into the pictures file but then nothing happens I have clicked on extract all.. and it doesnt work???
Please can u advise me I dont have a clue what iam doing!

Tomm, it depends on what archive utility program you are using but generally if you copied the zipped file to the pictures folder all you have to do is right click on that file and then click on “extract here”.

Thanks 4 the response, When I right click on the zipped file & click on Extract Here, a box come up saying select a destination and extract files.
In the drop doen box it says C:\Users\Tom\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures\MEGAPACK 2.0.
When I then click on extract an error message come up saying “there is allready a file with the same name as the folder name you specified. Specify a different name”

I can’t be 100 percent sure but it seems that you have already extracted the file. What do you have in the pictures folder at the moment? If you have the MEGAPACK 2.0 zip file and a MEGAPACK 2.0 folder with loads of pictures in it then you’re all set.
I got both the MEGAPACK 2.0 zip file & the MEGAPACK 2.0 folder with loads of files containing the pictures but when I change the settings on the game itself by un-ticking “Skin Cache” and sicking “Always Reload Skin on Confirm”. I am still not getting the faces coming up??? not sure whats going wrong
Do you have a custom user data folder set in the game preferences?

Hi Johnny, Gone back to it, want the pictures!!! Under data folder in preferences it says Folder locations box – C:\Users\Tom\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010, Then underneath a box is unticked next to “Use user data for temporary files” – any ideas?

The setting is OK, it’s the default one. If the pictures were extracted correctly then the thing should work.

You can create the folder yourself if it does not exist.
From the installation instructions:
“In your FM 2010 game preferences un-tick “Skin Cache” and tick “Always Reload Skin on Confirm”. Then click “confirm” and the pictures should work.”
Note that you should switch this back after the skins are visible. That will save you a huge amount of unnecessary startup time.

Have you downloaded all the pieces? I am using a free program called PeaZip.

Yes, you have to have all the pieces before trying to extract the file.

The best part… There will never be a final version, yes we are going out from BETA to an real release but we will keep updating the program. When football is up2date we will start work on NHL, NFL etc. etc. When updates is coming out all clientes there is using this program will automatic update. If everything is going okay we will put a update up tomorrow after 16 o’clock EU time so next time you just restart the program you will have a the newest version

Hi johnny i downloaded your face packs and metalic logos which worked fine up untill the point where i lost the respond buttons this problem has persisted although i have uninstalled everything and reinstalled them again without the face packs and the problem has continued to the football manager 2011 demo any help would be appreceiated

I don’t think it’s related to the face packs or logos, it might be a skin related problem. However, it’s curious that you’re having the same problem in the FM 11 demo, I really can’t understand why that happens.
