Congratulations Dave! And good luck with England, it's quite a tough job because the FA and the fans always expect very good results.

I was applied and got the England job in 2012 after England did badly at the Euros. Since the start of my game I have at some point won every trophy with West Ham so my rep is pretty good. Like managing the England squad and have to admit to being a bit bias with my players at west ham when it comes to call ups :)

If you already have a good reputation as a manager and you won some important trophies you might get a national team job. Just pay attention after the international competitions (World Cup, European Championship, Copa America) and you'll see that some national team managers will get sacked at the end of the competition. Apply for their job and you might be selected.
